Job Description:
As a Cybersecurity Engineer at Security Overview, you'll be on the front lines of our defense against cyber threats. You'll play a vital role in securing our clients' networks, systems, and data from malicious actors. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, from infrastructure hardening and vulnerability management to incident response and security awareness training.
Responsibilities:
Security System Design & Implementation:
Develop and implement robust security architectures for IT and network systems.
Create and maintain secure cloud-based infrastructures, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and standards.
Design and integrate security solutions, including firewalls, anti-virus software, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption protocols.
Security Testing & Evaluation:
Conduct regular security audits and penetration tests to identify system vulnerabilities.
Collaborate with Cybersecurity Analysts to assess the effectiveness of security measures.
Develop and execute test plans for new security hardware and software.
Collaboration & Strategy:
Work closely with IT and development teams to integrate security into the design and development of technology solutions.
Provide guidance and leadership in cybersecurity matters to technical and non-technical teams.
Assist in the development and updating of organizational security policies and procedures.
Incident Management & Response:
Assist in the response to cybersecurity incidents, providing technical expertise and support.
Develop and refine incident response protocols and procedures.
Collaborate with Cybersecurity Analysts to analyze incidents and implement preventative measures.
Professional Development & Training:
Stay current with emerging security trends, technologies, and best practices.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance technical and security skills.
Conduct security awareness training sessions for clients and employees.
Compliance:
Assist with implementing and maintaining compliance with relevant security regulations and standards.
Collaborate with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Specialists to conduct security compliance audits and assessments as needed.
Document and report on security activities and findings.
Requirements:
Willingness to work 40+ hours per week and take ownership of tasks.
Strong understanding of network security concepts and technologies.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Scripting and programming skills (e.g., Bash, Go, Python, Ruby).
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Relevant certifications.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Adaptability and ability to learn new technologies quickly.
Passion for cybersecurity and staying up-to-date on the latest threats and trends.
