Job Description: 
As a Cybersecurity Analyst at Security Overview, you'll be a critical member of our cyber defense team, playing a key role in proactively identifying and mitigating threats to our clients' networks, systems, and data. You'll be responsible for a range of tasks, from analyzing security logs and monitoring network activity to investigating incidents and conducting security assessments.

Responsibilities: 

  • Threat Detection & Monitoring:

    • Analyze security logs, network traffic, and system activity for suspicious behavior and potential threats.

    • Utilize security tools and technologies to detect anomalies and investigate potential breaches.

    • Monitor threat intelligence feeds and stay informed about emerging cybersecurity trends and vulnerabilities.

  • Incident Response:

    • Respond to security incidents following established procedures, containing threats and minimizing damage.

    • Assist with incident recovery and remediation efforts.

  • Vulnerability Management:

    • Conduct vulnerability scans of systems and applications to identify weaknesses.

    • Prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities effectively, working with system administrators when needed.

    • Stay up-to-date on emerging vulnerabilities and patching procedures.

  • Endpoint Security Management:

    • Use remote management systems to securely assess and configure endpoints, employing tools such as Remote Monitoring and Maintenance (RMM) and Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions.

    • Implement scripts for the secure configuration and management of endpoints.

  • Security Analysis & Assessments:

    • Conduct security assessments of networks, systems, and applications to identify security gaps and recommend improvements.

    • Analyze security policies and procedures and recommend enhancements.

  • Reporting & Communication:

    • Prepare comprehensive reports on security incidents, threat investigations, and security assessments.

    • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences about security risks and mitigation strategies.

    • Collaborate with other security team members and stakeholders to share information and coordinate efforts. 

Requirements: 

  • Willingness to work 40+ hours per week and take ownership of tasks. 

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a cybersecurity analyst role, or sufficient training experience.

  • Strong understanding of security concepts, tools, and technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, RMM, MDM, vulnerability scanners).

  • Experience with incident response processes and methodologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to configure and harden endpoint security settings and manage security configurations across various platforms.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and written report writing skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Adaptability and ability to learn new technologies quickly.

  • Passion for cybersecurity and a desire to stay up-to-date on the latest threats and trends.
